Traditional Dishes : Submarine sandwich

A sandwich made with a long roll or baguette filled with meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and various sauces or condiments. Apparently the sandwich or submarine, so called because of it’s shape was created to entice the navy service men stationed at the nearby navy yard. Also known as a sub.
